About this role:

Our client, a financial institution based in the city, is looking for an experienced Loan Closer with approx. 3-8 years Loan Closing experience to join their US and UK/Europe business, working on a hybrid basis of 3 days in the office. The successful candidate’s core function will be to settle private & secondary transactions and assist their trading desks on various administrative matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Loan Closer looking to develop their closing experience across both LMA and LSTA documentation and Par, distressed and trade claims settlements.

Tasks and Responsibilities of the Loan Closing Position:

  • Booking and settling of par/distressed loans, trade claims and reorganisation equity trades for our US, UK and European entities
  • Working with and liaising with existing UK and US closers on all elements of the trade life-cycle
  • Reviewing and drafting LMA/LSTA documentation and English law/NY Law documents for loans, claims, reorg equity
  • Reviewing loan/credit documentation and working with internal Legal on trade terms and documents
  • Liaising with and notifying Treasury, Finance and Operations on settlement of trades
  • Preparing non-disclosure agreements for clients and distributing private deal information
  • Providing KYC information for our UK and European entities to our trade counterparties and loan Agents
  • Working with Risk to ensure all credit limits are in place for counterparties in the booking system
  • Preparing and distributing internal documents/reports, including open positions reports
  • Identifying and escalating issues to the relevant internal parties when necessary
  • Month end tasks: KRI reporting, reporting of open and settled trades
  • Working with internal and external auditors and implementing their recommendations

Requirements of the loan closer:

  • 3-8 approx. years of Loan Closing experience
  • Experience using Debt Domain and Clearpar
  • Ability to review and understand Credit Agreements and other related legal documents
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive, highly organised, and process-driven
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and relationship-building skills
