About the Role
Our client, a leading global bank, is seeking a highly skilled Loan Agency Closing Specialist to join their Agency Loan Closing team in New York. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with deep Loan IQ experience, who thrives in a collaborative environment.
The Agency Closing Specialist will be responsible for the execution and lifecycle management of syndicated and structured loan transactions. This includes client liaison, documentation review, Closing, Deal Build and deal servicing, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients on all agency matters.
- Analyze credit documentation and extract necessary information for deal capture and booking in Loan IQ.
- Coordinate and manage syndicated loan closings, including CP, funding coordination, lender allocations, and facility onboarding.
- Process borrowing and payment requests, arrange funding, set rates, and renew maturing loan contracts.
- Calculate and bill fees (commitment, unutilized, letter of credit, agency, fronting).
- Set up and maintain customer records, including administrative details and payment instructions.
- Manage lifecycle events: amendments, waivers, extensions, repricings, lender assignments, rollovers, and restructurings.
- Review, interpret, and validate credit agreements, fee letters, amendments, joinders, and closing instructions.
- Lead and participate in closing calls with borrowers, lenders, counsel, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor commitment limits, expiration dates, and daily cash flow; investigate unidentified amounts in suspense accounts.
- Assist in training junior staff and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of Loan Agency experience supporting syndicated loans.
- hands-on experience with Loan IQ (facility onboarding, deal closing setup, events, fee setup, amendments).
- Strong understanding of credit agreements and related loan documentation.
- Experience with ClearPar or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to control and accuracy.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
