Our client, an international bank based in Canary Wharf, is looking for a Loans Middle Office Team Manager for a Director level role managing circa 18 people including 2 VP’s, therefore we are looking for strong people management experience. The team is responsible for the review and booking of Loan documentation, signing off on credit related checks, along with strong front office interaction.
The role offers Hybrid working of 2/3 days a week based in the office.
About the Loans Middle Office Team Manager Position:
- To manage and lead a team of subject matter experts in the daily operations and management of the Execution Control team, acting as a senior point of escalation ensuring swift onward escalation of any operational issues requiring management attention.
- To provide operational and strategic guidance across EMEA for the execution of data, ensuring all records are completed in line with the firm’s policies and controls.
- Provides end-to-end processing service to the bank’s EMEA entities ensuring Service Level Agreements are upheld and KRI’s / KPI’s are actively tracked and reported.
- Responsible for cross training and succession planning across the team; Facilitate training by providing and/or coordinating team study sessions, oversee one to one management reviews and appraisals whilst ensuring that the team is resourced accordingly.
- Represent Execution Control as a ‘subject matter expert’ (SME) on applicable projects and assignments; disseminate information vertically and horizontally and delegate responsibilities where appropriate.
- Key contributor to strategic initiatives and system enhancements from requirements gathering, user testing, through to successful implementation.
- Manage the Execution Control team within Execution, Distribution and Limit Control Middle Office. The Execution team has a remit to provide independent quality control across all EMEA branches over the key terms and conditions of credit applications, ensuring alignment to the lending documentation the firm is entering into with its customers.
- This role has close working relationship with all processing areas of Operational Administration Department, Loan Capital Markets and Front Office RM’s to aid the execution of new deals and trades across EMEA.
- Actively participates and represents at internal Working Groups and Governance forums.
- Engages externally with industry working groups, other market participants and key service providers/utilities.
- Manage strategic projects or system enhancements, ensuring projects are completed on time and all necessary User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is completed.
- Assist with the specification of Business Requirement Documents and coordinates with internal IT partners to establish an appropriate UAT schedule for system enhancements and upgrades.
- Active member and contributor of firm wide Working Groups such as IBOR RFR Loan Working Group.
