We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global investment firm based in London seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Private Credit Allocations at VP or Director level. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a newly established team within a market-leading institution, playing a key role in the allocation and oversight of complex private credit transactions across a range of funds.
The Opportunity
This senior role is responsible for the accurate and strategic allocation of transactions to various private credit funds, ensuring ongoing compliance with both investor-specific and fund-specific mandates. The position requires close coordination with portfolio managers, treasury, traders, legal teams, and finance to ensure robust governance, data accuracy, and operational excellence.
You will be joining a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your expertise will help shape the efficiency and integrity of fund allocations. The role demands both strong technical competence and the ability to build trusted relationships across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Allocation: Lead the allocation process for new, trade, and follow-on transactions across a suite of private credit funds.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure all allocations comply with relevant fund guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Oversee the development and maintenance of robust processes to uphold compliance.
- Fund Monitoring & Optimisation: Proactively monitor fund composition and concentrations both before and after allocations. Provide strategic recommendations for portfolio optimisation.
- Investor Reporting: Manage adherence to investor reporting obligations and information undertakings as set out in fund documentation.
- Data Management & Integrity: Maintain high-quality records of all allocation activity to support audits, investor queries, and internal reporting.
- Reconciliation Support: Liaise with Treasury, Finance, and Operations to ensure availability reconciliations are accurate and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including portfolio managers and legal, to ensure cohesive allocation execution.
- Process Enhancement: Drive continuous improvement of allocation processes, systems, and tools to support long-term scalability and operational excellence.
Key Requirements
- Demonstrable experience managing complex processes involving multiple internal stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of credit fund structures and portfolio management.
- Proven ability to analyse data, assess fund exposures, and interpret legal and fund documentation with accuracy.
- High attention to detail and precision in execution.
- Ability to lead processes independently while also managing and mentoring junior team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
- Experience working under pressure, managing tight deadlines, and adapting quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of investment compliance systems.
- Technologically adept with a continuous improvement mindset.
