Our client, one of the world’s largest multinational banks, are seeking an experienced Trade Finance Transaction Manager for a VP level position based in there London Global Trade Finance Department.

The Global Trade Finance Department is a business unit focusing on providing trade related financing to Corporate (commodity and non-commodity related) and Financial Institutional customers.

Main Responsibilities of the Senior Transaction Manager:

  • Overall responsibility for on-going monitoring of all commodity related transactions until execution / collection / repayment in Global Trade Finance Department – EMEA
  • Review individual commodity related transactions received under approved credit submissions and submit Instruction Sheets for Global Trade Finance Department Management approval.
  • Advise in structuring new commodity related facility requests (including amendments), in particular from an operational viability perspective.
  • Manage the workload of and the task allocation to the Transaction Management Group team and ensure transactional requests are handled timeously
  • Identify and propose streamlining and enhancements of operational process and risk control
  • Work closely with other Team Leaders and support / deputise Group Head
  • Advise in Facility Documentation, Finance Documentation Control, Booking and Administration and Internal Reporting
  • Provide cross training to new staff covering internal systems and products
  • Provide operational support to other business groups when Trade facilities provided
  • Ensure compliance with the banks booking policies and procedures for Global Trade Finance Department – EMEA products and facilities
  • Escalate negative news to Global Trade Finance Department Management

In addition, the Co-Team Leader also has the following additional responsibilities/activities:

  • Mentoring and developing other team members via the ‘Team Leader’ role as follows;
  • Support other Team Leaders and the Group Head and perform Group Head duties when Group Head is absent or out of office.
  • Answer team member questions, help with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance as a mentor of the team.
  • Provide encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks.
  • Generate and share comprehensive report to the Group Head about team performance, important matters and irregular items.
