Our client is currently looking for a Loans Middle Office professional to join their busy London team on a permanent basis responsible for Deal Closing and portfolio monitoring. This role is reporting into the London Head of Global Financing Operations and offering a salary of up to £55,000.

Main Responsibilities of the Loans Middle Office professional:

  • To ensure day-to-day support is given across all business lines – both for new and existing credit facilities.
  • The role will require the establishment of effective partnerships with all Front Offices as a key stakeholder as well as teams in several areas of the bank in different capacities
  • Reviewing and commenting on deal structures and facility documentation, at both structuring and closing stages (and post-closing follow up) to ensure both feasibility of the deal and to ensure that the terms duly comply with the credit approvals and term sheet
  • Deal security packages are duly analysed with any collaterals duly booked in the banks systems with all the associated reviews and follow up monitoring
  • Providing support for all prospective and current Facility Agency roles
  • Establishing all day-to-day activities are known/discussed and allocated in line with departmental procedures/processes and systems used
  • Ensure that all post-closing actions are duly executed/recorded in the banks systems
  • Take responsibility for monitoring the production of the monthly covenant, activity, sell down and waiver reports for all business lines
  • To take responsibility for maintaining the highest quality data, as well as understanding and adhering to credit policy developments and escalating appropriate queries. This will include detailed statistics for use on the (monthly) dashboard / scorecard together with control of relevant Bank systems, LoanIQ, SWORD, Credit Portail, local electronic folders etc.

Key Skills and Experience of the Loans Middle Office professional:

  • Specific understanding and experience of handling Facility and Security Agent roles.
  • Facility documentation knowledge is essential, especially the treatment/monitoring of financial covenants and security packages.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to identify problems
  • Proactive with the ability to deliver value-added support to business partners
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to accept new assignments and challenges
  • Good communication and relationship/partnership-building skills both with team members
  • Strong attention to detail with a control and risk discipline mindset

  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to use web-based technology effectively
